Halloween Candy Bars

I just love making candy bars into fun Halloween treats!  A couple of weeks ago I sat down and transformed 144 candy bars (snickers, pb cups & kit kats) into these:

My oldest son has finally completed his Eagle paperwork (in boy scouts) and sent it in. The paperwork came back today: APPROVED!!!!

His project is called HONOR THE VETERANS: His plan is to put in all 5 military branch flags and the POW flag in our city park around the veteran's memorial.

For those of you who don't know.... the rank of Eagle is the highest and most esteemed rank in Boy Scouts. Approximately ONE PERCENT of all boys ever earn this rank. And on average an Eagle Scout will earn $20,000 more per year.

Also, he got paperwork in the mail today to start the process to join the Airforce Academy upon high school graduation.

My Craft Room - Part 2

Here we go........ off and running to show you the other half of the room.  

This picture is to the left of my craft desk by where I sit. I have an antique childs dresser full of my immediate go-to stuff - adhesives, ink, label maker, phrases for cards and scents for cards  The two tool boxes have all my brads and eyelets in them.

These pictures are the top of my work desk. It's quite messy right now cuz I dropped what I was doing to take pictures and just left the mess. This desk is actually the island out of our kitchen (kitchen table high). We remodeled when we bought the house and put in new cupboards, a new island (counter high) and a new kitchen table.  It makes the perfect work space. And, if you look closely at the top picture here, you will see my dad's picture leaning against the window.

You also see my copic markers, my tool turn-about - full of tools, a cardboard organizer - that I papered - which holds my paper trimmer, smooch, rulers and other long stuff,  and a white box.  The white box is holding some of my digi images.

This picture is looking across my desk toward the window and closet.  You can see some of my buttons on the shelf along with more ribbon.


The wire shelf below the wooden one will hold all my stickles.  The cute little painted flower pot next to the shelf was made by my sweet little 2nd grade pen pal. :-)

These paper towers are at the right end of my scrap desk.  The cubes that are stacked on the crate will be soon stacked on a jet max cube of drawers.  That will make it more sturdy.  My sister picked up the wire paper racks for me from a scrapping store that closed up shop.

This is my work desk - the opposite side of where I sit.  Yes, more storage and more stuff.  In the far left cupboard I have bubble wrap and cardboard pieces. The next cupboard over has all my acetate pieces in it - boxes, sheets, pails, you name it. The third cupboard has all my vinyl in it.  The shelves all pull out on rollers.

Well.... there you have it.  You have seen the whole room now.  However, at this point I'm going to go back and zoom in on a few more things so you can see a little more detail, etc. 


This dresser is the one that is below the clown picture - just inside the door.  It holds my printer and my Cricut along with lots more stuff inside.  Would you believe I picked this dresser up at a garage sale for just $10.  I haven't had it repaired or refinished yet, but that's the plan eventually.

 This is another antique dresser  holding a paper tower and 2 jet max cubes stacked and full of paper.  My husband picked this dresser up at an auction for $50 when he was 15 years old.  We had it refinished and it's just beautiful.  It's from the late 1800s.

 This shelf is just above my scrap desk and right next to the window.  You can see all my buttons, glitter and some confetti.

Here's a few more shots of the inside of my closet that's right behind my chair.  The bookshelf is loaded.  The top two shelves are full of cardstock and envelopes.

Moving down on the bookshelf are lots of little drawers.  They are full of all of my pens, tools and little stuff.  The bottom shelf of this bookcase has a bunch of the divided craft boxes full of flowers, ribbons, bows, gems, skittles, etc., etc.  And then there's a cupboard below that shelf that is holding all my Christmas gems, flowers and buttons.  The blue tote you see is full of more ribbon and it's sitting on top of another tote just like it that's full of all my holiday ribbon.  Yes, I'm addicted to ribbon, and gems, and paper, and stamps, and, and, and..............

My Craft Room

Here it is!  My craft room is pretty well put together.  It's organized chaos.

Bear with me as I'm going to describe as we go.

This is the SE corner - looking in across the room from the door. 

Here's a better view of the bookshelf. It's holding photo organizer boxes, jars of flowers and albums waiting to be started. 

This is the inside of the cabinet my TV is perched atop. The boxes are full of photos waiting to be organized and scrapped.

Next we move to the right - lots of paper and ribbons.  Yes, the dressers are FULL too.

Here's another bookshelf - full of plastic shoe storage containers - they are holding all my wood-mounted stamps, just-right stamps, stampin up stamps and inks.  The two teal containers are drawers holding all my Cricut books & overlays. The cartridges are in a container right on top of those drawers.

The still-life picture was painted by my dad. The farm scene with the dog is a painting from a former boyfriend's mom. I gave her a photo of my dog I grew up with and she painted him into this farm setting. She named it "September Song with Prince". She didn't know he was born in September

Here's yet another dresser - yes, FULL. Above it is a shelf just showing off some cutesy stuff & a picture my dad painted before I was born. I've always loved THAT clown.  I have a shoe bag hanging on the door holding all my border & corner punches.

As we come around to the right - here's a closet - on the far left in here I have all my totes piled up.  Next I have a file cabinet in here that's not organized yet.  I'm going to store all my paper scraps in one drawer and all my alpha and numeric stickers in the bottom drawer.  The small bookcase has all my idea books and magazines stored on it.  This closet still needs a lot of work.  The little white boxes have my cuttlebug folders in them - alphabetically.  

 

In between both closets I have a rack that holds CDs - all those cases are full of unmounted stamps and my Nesties.

The next closet over to the right is probably the most organized spot in the room.  I have a pants hanger with "clip-it-ups" holding all my loose ribbon, a 9-cube cabinet holding lots of goodies - more detailed pictures below.  There's a bookshelf in there and organizers hanging on both doors.

My totes/cubes hold:

Christmas, small paper stacks, 8 1/2 x 11 paper

bling, chipboard, stickers

words/phrases, die cuts and scouts.

And of course in front I have my baby's bed.

Get Well Soon Card

A family member recently took ill and my husband and I decided a home-made card would be much appreciated. I went through all my images to find just the right one for her - it came from Dustin Pike. I used an Action Wobble (trimmed way down) to give action to the monkey's head. I have to admit, tho, I didn't do the best job stamping MONKEY, however, I know she'll love the card anyway. 


I even remembered to keep track of which Copics I used!

Friendship in Bloom

A friend is celebrating her birthday soon and I needed to create a special card for her.  She loves flowers and to work in her flower garden.  I've seen cards flowers made like this before and decided to give it a try.  Sorry, I'm really bad at keeping track of where I get my items I create with.  Friendship in Bloom is a rub-on.  I am quite pleased with how the card turned out. My friend loved it!

My Sister's Birthday Card

I purchased this image and decided it needed to be distressed. I crumpled the picture and roughed up the edges then added flower soft to the girl's flower basket. I also used Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock behind it - crumpling and distressing the edges of that as well as running a sanding block over it to bring out the color a little more. "Forever Young" is a vellum phrase that I added by running it through my Xyron "X" Sticker Maker.

Needless to say, my sister loved the card!

90th Birthday Card

A friend asked me to make a birthday card for her uncle who was turning 90.  WOW! Where do I even begin???  Well I had seen an idea long these lines out there some where and decided to find a car image and go from there.  She loved it and so did everyone else! WHEW!  

For my little Valentine

This is the card I made for my little 2nd grade pen pal. She's such a sweetie! I love how the bee can be colored in so many different ways and still look darling! Hope you enjoy!

Almost Valentine's Day

A friend asked me to make a few Valentine's Day cards that she and her husband could send to their 2nd grade pen-pals.  I love this little bee.  It's perfect for many occasions! The top card will be sent to a little boy and the bottom obviously to a girl. I think the kids will be thrilled - they love to get mail!

Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Bear

A dear lady recently passed away from non-hodgkins lymphoma. I made this bear and enclosed it in the sympathy card to the family. Rest in peace, Cindy.

Pop-Up Birthday Card

A while back Diane at Capadiadesigns posted a tutorial for a darling pop-up card.  Well when I found this digi image from Sassy Cheryl's I knew that I had to make it into a pop-up card.  You'll be so proud of me, I even kept track of which Copic markers I used to color the image: RV02, RV04, RV06, Y06 YR68, BG01, ,BG05, BG07, and BG09.  I'd love to hear your comments!

Sending sunshine

A friend has been having a really tough time lately. I thought she needed some sunshine in her life - at least one day of it any way. So I made this cute little Care Bear card for her. I don't think I could have made it any more bright or cheery. I used Glossy Accents on the stars and the sun on the bear's tummy. I also popped the big sun - she needs as much sun as she can get right now.

Holly Hobby Look Alike

I just love the Sara Kay images - this one stood out at me as just the right one for a birthday card - another belated one - of course. Sorry I am not very good at writing down which Copic markers I've used. I'm working on that. The flowers are from Jolee's - that I do remember. Hope you and the recipient like this card.

House Mouse Jumpin for Joy

I colored this cute little mouse a while back knowing eventually it would be put to good use.  Well I dug out this paper from my stash and decided it would be a perfect fit for a birthday card. I think it turned out pretty cute myself.

Belated Birthday Card

Well here it is January and like usual I'm running behind. This is a very belated birthday card for a swap I was in - last year. I finally got it done and sent. I popped the cake so it would really stand out. Unfortunately photos just don't do the original artwork justice. Hope you and the recipient like it!

Polka Dots and Seeing Spots

I've gotten a hold of some more images from Bugaboo Stamps and have been having fun playing! I'm going to enter this one for a spotty challenge.... Wish me luck!  I really like how my copic coloring and shading is finally coming along. I'm really pleased with how the balloon turned out.

Late Christmas Card

Here's a very belated Christmas Card I made and sent - overseas.  It was for a gal in the House Mouse group - so I figured it needed to be one of their images. I had so much fun creating this card. It really just came together for me. I used the new Wonky Squares from Spellbinders - and they were perfect. The only challenge I had was putting the bling on the card. It kept sticking to my fingers, to itself.... it's going to take some practice.
