Blogging

Ok. I know I said in my last post that I was going to BLOG about my attitude of gratitude. Well scratch that. I've started a paper journal and am not going to bore you with all of that here.  This is a scrappy blog - that's what it was created to be and what it shall remain.  So don't bug out on me.  More crafting projects will be showing up very soon.  I promise!

Gratitude Attitude

Wow! Here it is 2011 already. Happy New Year!  I was just reading a blog earlier and came across this idea.  Well, actually I've had the idea before, now it just has a name.  This will be a simple practice of blogging about one thing I am grateful for each day.  I know there are lots of things and people for whom I am grateful.  However, I really need to focus on this more this year and in the future.  Why not start now?!

So.... getting started.  1/1/11. Today I am thankful for a day to do absolutely nothing with my husband and boys. We all sat around in our jammies, played games, talked, snacked, snuggled each other and our pets and just had a wonderfully relaxing day.  Here's a picture of my little dog. She's a good snuggler and loves loves loves to play with her ball.

Well.  There. I did it.  I got started and now to keep it going.  That was easy!

Happy Halloween!

This card was made from a freebie image from Bugaboo. I just love love love her images! I colored Frankie with my Copic markers. I figured he definitely needed the googly eyes! The background paper was made from Core'dinations paper - I crumpled it and some of it tore. Perfect background for Frankenstein. The inside of the card says "Have a Spook-tacular Halloween!"

Birthday Card

This is a very special birthday card I created for my niece who just turned 22. She is extremely talented at anything she sets her mind to. She's attending Boston U for grad school! Yes, I can say I'm related!!! Anyway, she needed a very unique card. I used wired gold ribbon for the background and stapled it down. Then added DMC floss over the top of that - laying it down and letting it do it's thing. Atop of that is Stella from Bugaboo Stamps and some red tulle. What a fun card to make! I colored Stella with my Copic markers.... sorry, I need to remember to write down which colors I use. Will work on that. I printed the sentiment on my inkjet printer "Sew... What's New?" and on the inside I placed "It's Your BIRTHDAY!"

Knowing her, she's going to absolutely LOVE it! I wish I could see her face when she opens the card. (yes, I mailed it late - story of my life lately).

Let me know what you think. I always love to hear your comments!

Hello again....

My apologies for being gone from you for so very long. Life has most definitely gotten in the way around here. But now I'm back, crafting again and ready to start posting again. Thank you so much, my dear followers, for sticking with me. Now..... onto the crafts!

Valentine card

I got this darling RAK Valentine from Mary Anne on House Mouse. I love all the dimension she added to this card! She didn't sign the card so I could give it to someone.... I told her I couldn't part with such a great card!
